Blemishes, this include acnes, scars,
wrinkles and discolored skin, not only affect our physical appearance, but
also our all important self-esteem and confidence. The process of
microdermabrasion is a non surgical and non-invasive skin treatment can now
help alleviate these problems.
Produces smoother, more attractive skin, younger looking skin, evens out
skin texture. Microdermabrasion works on fine skin imperfections, to help
remove superficial surgical scars, is effective in reducing fine lines,
“crow’s feet”, age spots and acne scars. It stimulates the production of
skin cells and collagen. More severe skin imperfections, strong
discolouration, deep scars and deep wrinkles cannot be improved by this
method because it only sandblasts the top layer of the skin and doesn’t
reach the deeper layers. You can have it on the face, neck, chest, back,
feet and hands. |

The Procedure
|
 |
|
| |
|
Dermabrsion is a procedure in which the skin
is frozen and then the area cleased with antiseptic cleansing agent. The
process involves using a specialised rotary hand-held machine (similar to
sandblasters) to spray and circulate high-pressure crystal flow onto the
skin resulting in a gentle abrasion or removal of the outer layers of the
skin which are dead amuwau and the healthy skin lying underneath is not
affected. Muscles, fascia, tendon sheath and nerves are not affected so
usually anaesthetic is not required. ımproving irregularities in the skin
surface.“polishing” process. Microdermabrasion machines are made of a
compressor and pump that mix gentle abrasion with suction to peel the outer
skin layer (10-15 microns of skin, a layer so thin that you can’t see it).
You may feel a tingling sensation during treatment and a windburn-like
sensation afterwards. The skin does look slightly red and swollenin the
first 24/48 hours but that’s where the discomfort ends. The newly formed
skin which is pink at first gradually turns normal. Normal activities can be
resumed immediately. Colour and healing is usually complete in 7 – 10 days.
Make up can be used as soon as the skin is healed. The number of treatments
required for maximum results and range from 5 to 12 and with each treatment
2-3 weeks apart. Maintenance of results requires periodic repeat treatments
after the initial regimen is completed depending on the size of skin area to
be treated. Patients are instructed to stay out of direct sunlight for 3 – 6
months after procedure and to use sunscreen on a regular basis when outdoors.
Your skin will be smoother, cleaner and will be left looking more natural.
There will be a reduction in the number of fine lines and wrinkles, scars
and acnes. Overall, it helps your skin look younger, healthy, glowing and
for some people, close to perfect.
Results depend on the original condition of the skin, the depth of the
wrinkles and other imperfections and individual healing ability. |
