THE PRACTICALITIES OF GOING ABROAD FOR COSMETIC SURGERY

After your initial enquiry and accepting the offer made to you by Body Designer Turkey (BDT) your flights, reservation can be made either by yourself or with help from BDT .Check you have a valid passport. If it needs renewing pick up an application form from your local Post Office or apply online via the Passport Office. For Turkey your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months after your scheduled return to the UK. You will need a visa but this can be obtained on your arrival at Antalya airport for £10 – payable only in cash. Upon arrival at Antalya airport, before proceeding to passport control you should buy your visa from the visa kiosk. This visa is valid for multiple entries for up to 90 days, so should you decide to visit during the next 3 months another visa will not be required nor the fee paid again.

It is a good idea to purchase a small amount of local currency in advance to take with you, especially if your surgery means you will not go out of the hospital/hotels for a few days. If you do not have an opportunity of arranging this prior to your visit you will be able change money with our local representative at the daily exchange rate You can use travellers cheques, or debit or credit card to withdraw Turkish lira from the local ATMs but personal cheques are not acceptable in Turkey.

Whilst in Turkey you will have the use of a mobile phone for local calls, but if you intend using your own phone for international calls be sure to advise your provider that you will be going abroad and to open the international service line.
